New to GOTHEM - One game to rule them all!  No more OCS/ECS/AGA mixup - just play on any Amiga or emulator!  Have fun!  This month, Sneech!  No idea what this is but came up in a random Amiga search.  Enjoy!

Amiga Retro Brisbane BBS (#ARBBS)
« on: October 31, 2021, 08:03:28 pm »
Good evening Amiga Retro Brisbane members!

Some time ago there was mention of some interest in the discovery / use / availably or the good old BBS (Bulletin Board System)!

To this end I have embarked on a project to produce our very own Amiga Retro Brisbane BBS (#ARBBS) to be run in conjunction with our forum www.amigaretro.com #ARBF.

I would be very please to here your thoughts / and / or / suggestions etc.

Please log on, even if you do so from your modern machine.  Point your telnet client to www.amigaretro.com port 23.  DCTelnet works well on Amiga, ccgms21 on the 64, Windows users can use Netrunner, and Mac and Linux users have a built in telnet Client.

Amiga Retro Brisbane BBS (#ARBBS) is Operational!

Quote from: Gazmaniac
Mark Casteleijn has worked his magic again and we now have a local BBS!  It's accessible from any system using Telnet, and has successfully been accessed by at least two Amigas and a c64!

We need a logo for this fantastic facility, so we're running an ANSI art competition.  Please upload your entries to the Uploads section of the BBS.
Please log on, even if you do so from your modern machine.

Point your telnet client to www.amigaretro.com port 23.  DCTelnet works well on Amiga, ccgms21 on the 64, Windows users can use Netrunner, and Mac and Linux users have a built in telnet Client.

This is awesome. I have been using it since it was available using my Amiga 3000 and DCTelnet. It works great and I am checking in most days so please say hi!

Look forward to seeing some of my favourite BBS door games soon!

Thanks so much for your work in making this BBS happen.

Many thanks Epsilon!

Internal functionality is basically done, Just a few file area and message area configurations to go! (Still some menu items to fix / enable /disable) but then I will be getting stuck into those doors!

More "Classic" "BBS Door" Games are going online as quickly as I can!

Come and join in the Fun the Classic "Galactic Warzone" - Can you defeat the Cabal?

For those too young to remember the "old" BBS days, a Door Game is an online game launched from a shell (DoorWay) in the BBS! Some are Multi-Node and most are "turn" based games.

Hope to see you on the BBS soon!

New BBS Door Game Server Online!

Ok.. I have at "last" started to update the BBS in prep for the Amiga BBS launch. In the server move I had to disable all the local door games as I could no longer run them in the cloud. I have now built (installed) a dedicated Door Game server to get around this. Its only up for the first time tonight and its in need of testing. It has a bunch or door games that came installed in it which I have had little time to test / check - so any feedback would be great! One of the main goals was to get Galactic Warzone back up and running and it seems to be working well. Likewise on the testing front I have not tested it from anything else other than a PC at this stage.

BBS Crash from the old setup will be the next to be ported across.

Very keen to get your feedback!

Thank you and enjoy the Games!
