February 2020 - Pinball Illusions
« on: January 29, 2020, 08:28:37 pm »
AGA Game of the Month for February, 2020, is Pinball Illusions!

Pinball Illusions is an Amiga pinball video game developed by Digital Illusions CE (DICE) in 1995 as a sequel of Pinball Fantasies and Pinball Dreams.

The original Amiga release featured three tables. The tables* are Babewatch, Law & Justice, and Extreme Sports.

This was the first version of the series to feature more than 1 ball in play at a time (known as 'multiball'), and the first to be released for AGA based Amigas.

Information:
  • Amiga Hardware: AGA
  • Release Year: 1995
  • Disks: 4
  • WHDLoad: Yes
  • Players: 1 or 8
  • Publisher: 21st Century Entertainment
  • Developer: Digital Illusions

Links to game information and the manual:

Please refer to the 'Game of the Month Rules and Participation' post for information on how to participate!  Good Luck!

* To qualify for the game of the month, you must play single player, and post/email your highscore from the Babewatch table ONLY (I just like the music).

Hi all,

Please note I have added a few notes the the Rules and Regulations.  Please check the post in the Game of the Month category.

Basically these changes state more information on how to post submissions, as well as allowing the use of Emulators for GOTheM.

If you choose to use an Emulator, be fair!  DO NOT use save states, rewinds, or any advantage provided by underlying software (emulated or on real Amiga).  Let's ALL play the games as they were designed to be played.

It's all about the games! Let's have some fun!

Hi All,

Determined to get a good score at this game. Had another go this evening and got a new record score at Babewatch of 345,992,120.

The trick I think is in the getting the multipliers for the bonuses (I got 80,000,000 in bonuses on 8x multiplier), using the multiballs to maximize jackpots and the combos of course. The race offers good points too.

One time I hit the full jackpot at the Casino and won 100,000,000 points straight up. Wish I did that on this top score attempt :-)

Wow!  Here I am playing this game all night.  Tried on the NinjaKat (need to work out a good Amiberry/whdload/retropie config for that) and ended up on my Amiga 1200 and it plays soooo much better there - fast, smooth scrolling, great music.

Anyway, my best tonight on my A1200 with ACA1233n-26.67 accelerator:

302,044,030

You are right Epsilon, gotta make the most of the multipliers before doing gym modes, surf modes, races, and casino bonuses.  It's great this competition.  Forces us to get the absolute best out of these GREAT games!  We'll be masters by the end of the month.  Keep it up!

Hi all,

Well seems I am addicted to this game.  Pretty much spent all night on it, mostly not getting over 100 million per try..  seemed the game was against me!  I had a multiball that sent both balls straight down the middle with no chance of me striking them... I was convinced the game was rigged against me...  then I had a stellar game just now... no idea how... triple multi-balls, extra balls, casino runs, and got the burger mode in the end and.. wow! that mode!...  the lights and sound and score was amazing!  And got a high score!!!!!!
