New to GOTHEM - One game to rule them all!  No more OCS/ECS/AGA mixup - just play on any Amiga or emulator!  Have fun!  This month, Sneech!  No idea what this is but came up in a random Amiga search.  Enjoy!

« on: September 01, 2024, 09:12:25 am »
AGA Game of the Month for July-August 2024, is Blake Stone: Aliens Of Gold

Wolfenstein 3D took you into the past, thrusting you into a world at war. Blake rockets you into the future where a sinister madman, using genetics to create an army of bizarre creatures, is waging war on Earth. Blake has more of everything! More action, more enemies, more levels, more firepower, more graphics, more animation, more pitfalls and more features. Like built-in auto-mapping, so you never have to worry about getting lost in the game.

Announcement: Looks like this may require a license purchase.  Here is a link to the game on gog.com - it is about $9 AUD: https://www.gog.com/en/game/blake_stone_aliens_of_gold

Well that was a lot of fun.

It took a bit of searching to find a game that would work with the Aminet files.

I eventually found a working version of it on archive.org  https://archive.org/details/BlakeStoneAliensOfGoldUSA

Some of the other versions, for example the DOSBox version didn't work with the Aminet files.

This ran great on my PiStorm32.  Nice and fast and I completed the game levels 1-9 on the required difficulty level two - skilled agent.

I enjoyed this much more than Gloom, and I just thought I'd say as much, because while I was trying to find a working version of the game, I ran across people in forums suggesting that Gloom would be a better option.  I would have to say it's worth playing through, but you might need a fast Amiga.  I haven't tried it on a slower machine as yet.

My Score: 1925805

I decided to have another play through and I again completed the game levels 1-9 (Plus 0 this time) on the required difficulty level two - skilled agent.

I had missed an awful lot of hidden stuff and probably some obvious stuff as well.

This time around I still didn't get/find everything there was, except for Level 9, where I got 100%

OMG! What an effort! Its way to hard on the stock 1200! I've made all of about 2000 points so far!  ;)

But thats just me I'm sure!

Think i'll give it a go on the MiSTeR but I'm sure I will not get anywhere near that!

First time playing this and made some progress after finally getting it to run on my A1200.  Thanks to intangybles for the assist!!  It was a bit slow on my A1200 so didnt really get far.

Best score I could manage was: 65665

Played on my A1200, 'Skilled Agent' difficulty, starting level/mission 1.  No passwords or cheats were used.

Well, I got it installed on my A1200, MiSTeR and the V4SA!

I wanted to see how it would go on the VS4, ran well but locked up every time I died!

Oh, Well.. Just in case I don't get a chance to have another go on the MiSTeR I'll post what I have on the V4SA.

I got about 25000isg before I discovered the lockup, so the best I can register is 15150 which was the save prior.

Played on my VS4SA, 'Skilled Agent' difficulty, starting level/mission 1.  No passwords or cheats were used.

I decided to play a bit more from my last saved game, and found some more stuff I'd missed on earlier levels.  I again played on the required difficulty level two - skilled agent.

I cracked the 5 Million score and then stopped.  ;D

My Final Score: 5005155

Played on my A1200 PiStorm32, no keys, passwords or cheats were used.
