New to GOTHEM - One game to rule them all!  No more OCS/ECS/AGA mixup - just play on any Amiga or emulator!  Have fun!  This month, Sneech!  No idea what this is but came up in a random Amiga search.  Enjoy!

Standard WB Setup
« on: August 22, 2020, 06:09:51 pm »
What are some of the things that people install as standard when doing a fresh Workbench setup?  I'm about to start a fresh WB 3.1.4 install and would be interested in what others install.

I usually put bestwb on 3.1.4 as it has everything I like to install as a base.

I’m thinking of installing 3.9 and doing the update to 3.1.4 as there are a few things that I’d like to keep.  I’ve tested this a couple of times in emulation and all seems to be good.

BestWB is great!

BestWB seems a bit bloated? Is this just an incorrect perception? I like to keep my OS installs pretty clean and light so throwing a big pack at it seems silly.

Depends on how you define bloat.

I find it pretty light on when compared to other packs like classicwb, and especially so when comparing to amikit.

Either way, it's easy enough to disable to few startup commodities if you're concerned about memory/cpu usage.

If I'm correct there are also things in bestwb that aren't even compatible with 3.1.4?
